I fell in love twice while attending UMD. I was physical with them both, but emotionally distant (both my choice and theirs.) I feel it has impacted my ability to now form a healthy, trusting relationship with the boys who treat me right. I wish that I could tell them that I loved them and I cared, but at this point it is just my selfish need to release the secret rather than an actual desire for results or closure. Never be embarrassed about your feelings, the stigma of vulnerability is hugely misplaced.

whenever I feel like a failure, I like to read biographies about people I admire. In particular I like to read about the screw ups in their family, the lazy father, or the unemployed uncle. It makes me feel like I have nothing to lose. Even if I turn out to be an epic failure, maybe one of my great-great-grandson will make something of himself. I just need to fool someone to marry me and give me a couple of children.

It amuses me when parents complain about the quality of teachers in the American education system. If their kids ever get to college they will be lucky to get a teacher who is half as capable of teaching as a high school teacher.

Me: I hate doing group project with Americans. They are so dumb and slow.

Roommate: At least they have good work ethics. Try doing a project with Indians. They are dumb and lazy.

Me: But Americans include African American, right? My black lady beats your Indians.

Roommate: You win. But we don't even have African Americans in our program.

So I guess there was a cheer leading competition on campus today (Saturday). Looking at all those little girls with make-up plastered all over their face with those revealing clothes made me cringe. I know that's the normal garb for cheer leaders, but don't their parents think they're a little young for all of that?

I'm sorry I did that... the person I'm speaking to knows who they are.
