#4097 I don't see why people have a problem with people riding bikes on the sidewalks... Especially if they're not by a road; what are they going to do, get off of it and walk with it? The only bike riders I can't stand are the ones who come barreling through and get super close to hitting you. Those are the ones I'd like to chuck my books at.

#4096 Being a transfer student here is awful. I went to another state school before this and somehow it was easy to make friends. Here...it seems virtually impossible. I went to the first look fair, I signed up for some clubs. Yet I still haven't really found the place I fit in. All of my friends are hundreds of miles away...and I just don't know what to do. Seriously considering dropping out. I know I'm lucky to go to school here at such a great school. But it's hard to survive without any friends.

#4093 Now that the page is getting so racial, I might just as well weigh in. I'm an international student here at UMD. I look "foreign" and speak with accent.

I don't know whether black people are more violent as a group. But I have only been assaulted by black people not other groups. I don't know whether black people are more racist in general. But the discrimination I encountered was ALL from black people. One black woman in Capital One even refused to provide service for me because I am not a citizen (I have ID and social and all documents). In my stem program, there are very few black students. The only black student was lazy and dramatic, and lacked team spirit. Working with her was very frustrating.

Respect goes both ways. When you are in a foreign country and all the negative experiences come disproportionally from one group of people, it is difficult not to have opinion about them.
