#5825 Okay I have seemed to rile some feathers but you know what my issues have still not been issued. Most of the responses are completely emotionally driven and off base. All I can say to those is that the feeling is mutual. Any half brained dolt can make insults. Argue me according to the facts if you have half the ability to do so. And my points were very vaguely defined, because I didn't want to argue. But the totally nonsensical responses, saying "No Faith" invalidated any sort of information the article contained, by mocking my post, and not giving an honest measured response, forced me into this argument. So let's start this debate:
My main point is this:
The reluctance of the millennials and perhaps of the generation before them to start a family has not only caused the degradation of the family unit, but is also doing significant damage to the economy. This assertion comes from the first article I provided.
Now to your point:
Saying that India and the rest of the developing world is developing solely because of aid, has no precedence. My contention that a falling population causes significant economic damage is in fact supported by academic precedence. The principal difference between India and China is that India has a fertility rate of just above the replacement rate of 2.5 children per person vs. 1.5 of China. In the next 50 years India's GDP is expected faster than China's to grow precisely because China's workforce will age faster than India's.
Here is an article discussing the demographic problem China is facing:
http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2012-08-21/china-entering-demographic-danger-zone-boj-official-says-2-.html
And have you ever heard of the demographic bubble? It states that the US population is aging too quickly and that there will not be enough young people to pay for social services for the old, thus ballooning the overall debt.
Here is an article discussing it:
http://www.nber.org/papers/w2797
It basically says what I have stated.
Lets stop here for right now. I have more points but these pretty much support most of my points.
I will only focus on the economic problems right now but there is whole panoply of work that shows the psychological and social problems that arise from the current state of affairs.

#5822 Why does there always have to come a time where you have to choose between doing something you love and doing something practical? Granted sometimes they're one and the same, but when it's not why does there have to be a choice?

#5819 Would you be surprised if the same person who wrote some of the nice and sweet confessions sometimes wrote ones that were bitchy or had to do with sex?
