#5929 What if I told you that my happiness comes from ruining everyone else's? Emotional vampirism at its finest. Ahhooooo!

#5928 I'd marry a pretty and docile woman with some useless liberal arts degree over a less attractive woman who's a medical doctor or lawyer.

#5927 Everytime I hear someone say "We need to teach abusers not to abuse" I always think "Just like we need to teach robbers not to steal and we need to teach murders not to kill people." People commit crimes and they should be punished for them, but the people doing the thing that they aren't supposed to be doing won't take responsibility to not do it. We need to force them not to do it, not just tell them not to and hope for the best.

#5926 I'm a female, and regularly find myself very attracted to gay men. I know this is an archetype, and a futile desire, but it's there. So there's that.

#5925 When I'm feeling down, I look up pictures of Ellen and Portia and try to imagine them having the same mundane conversations I have. They seem so happy.

#5924 Re:5195, I text one literally once every 6 weeks. Still nothing. No idea what's happening.
Also posting and pretending not to need them is not my style.

#5889 To the person who wrote about a brother with autism...I am completely empathetic to your situation. I, too, have a brother with behavioral issues who can be an embarrassment to me in public and private. Although I have never considered killing myself because of the situation, I understand the mixed emotions that you feel regarding your treatment of your brother. I can be so harsh and unfeeling when I speak with my brother and I feel guilty and terrible afterwards. Living away from home makes the situation easier, but I'm not sure that I'll ever have a great relationship with my brother. The way that you feel about your brother is completely normal because I feel the same way about mine. People often forget the burden that a disability imposes--not just on the disabled, but on their entire families, too. You shouldn't be so hard on yourself.
