I'm an art student, and recently I've been drawing shall we say, art that expresses bodily form. So anyway, was siting in class today just doodling and I found myself drawing a nude figure without a head, and without thinking too much, I kinda just used my professor as the reference for the head... thing is, the body is a woman's, but my professor is a man. What worse though, I can't get rid of this paper cause it has class notes. So all this to say I think my professor looks nice with a woman's body.

To the confessor who wrote about "the skinny girl who feels she's being bullied": I believe you took her confession the wrong way, which is what most larger/curvier women do whenever thinner girls express their feelings about being made fun of for being too thin. How do I know? I am one of those naturally "severely thin" girls.. and I've had a lot worse things said to me than "eat a cheeseburger". Even some of (what I thought were) my close friends in high school would randomly ask if I throw up my food, or why I didn't have boobs. Random boys would come up and ask why there's so much space between my legs, followed by nasty comments..and I thought thigh gaps were glorified! You may not think skinny girls self harm because the media talks more about fat shaming than thin shaming. Yet, I WAS one of those naturally thin girls, bullied for her weight, that self harmed because I felt like some disgusting creature. But, I know many large women feel the same way; disgusting, due to what people have said about them. Neither situations are right, and neither situation is easier than the other.

Back to my main point though, the original post about the thin girl. All she was trying to say is that there are extremes on both sides and we should stop making assumptions that that curvier woman over there sits on her ass all day eating mcdonalds, or that that thin girl over there never eats a thing or vomits after meals. Not just because our assumptions may be wrong, but because they can mess that persons mind up and cause disorders like anxiety or depression and make them feel miserable. Instead we should make everyone feel beautiful EVEN if they don't look what we would personally consider "healthy". Maybe if we make the girls who actually do have eating disorders or have unhealthy eating habits feel important and beautiful regardless of how they look, it will motivate them to change for the better.

I wish there was more tolerance and less hate from BOTH sides when it comes to politics. We can disagree without there being drama or people getting hurt. Remember that Jesus taught love and acceptance ?

To the skinny girl who feels she's being bullied: You're right, what people are saying to you about your weight is wrong and unkind, just like what you're doing through your post. All. People. Are. Beautiful. And believe me, the number of people who have commented about your being underweight is only a small fraction when compared to the number of people willing to tease, criticize, or body shame someone with a larger frame, without having any fucking clue who they are, how they eat, how they exercise or what they're going through. The reason severely underweight people are given the psychiatric disorder you're talking about is because eating disorders are a thing that exist and they kill people. 20 million women and 30 million men in America suffer from eating disorders according to the National Eating Disorder Association. I nearly lost a friend to Anorexia Nervosa a few years ago and I am beyond thankful for that rehab center. That statistic alone should indicate to you that there isn't a problem with glorifying obesity. In fact, studies show that 91% of women in the US are unhappy with their bodies and resort to dieting to achieve their ideal shape. As someone with anxiety, depression, and body dysmorphic disorder, I absolutely know what that feels like. Your self esteem is boosted in the media all the time. You see yourself on the covers of magazines, and in television and movies. You are portrayed as the ideal. And unless you know what it feels like to stand in the mirror and want to literally cut off pieces of yourself or have suicidal thoughts because you can't stop obsessing over how fat you think you are, and how that somehow makes you worthless, you have no fucking room to talk. I don't spend my time knocking you down for your body and ya know what? The majority of society doesn't either. The things you implied here were WAY worse than comments about eating another cheese burger, and are making you a hypocrite. This day in age, you're right I find it pretty damn inspirational that a woman with a larger frame can put herself in the public eye and accept herself in spite of not fitting into what fashion media has considered the norm. I completely agree that anything to an extreme is unhealthy. However, if you feel that spending MORE time telling women that they are not beautiful and that they are not inspiration and that they are not sexy or curvy is somehow the solution to an obesity problem, I would encourage you to take a second and look at yourself in the mirror to check your motivation. If you're "exhausted" with society then YOU start doing something different, but I don't think taking time out of your day to knock people down for their weight is the answer; and the next time you're feeling marginalized, go grab nearly any women's magazine and take a look. I promise, if you're actually opening your damn eyes, you'll start to feel better within about 4 pages.
