I'm a guy and I hate going to the gym here at Fox. It makes me so uncomfortable how all the girls stare at me and whisper about me butt and pecks.

Dear Students of Fox,
I doubt I am the only one one who has been not only saddened, but discouraged by the judgement and condemnation of other's on this page. I don't presume to insinuate that all students on campus have the same values or morals in their life, however, I hope that we all want to do right by God- and if not Him then each other. Furthermore,if we have issues with our image as a community and with other's among us I am not convinced that this confession page is not the place to voice these opinions. I recognize we all have stereotypes, even I am not exempt, however, perhaps we should begin a dialogue about these controversies. It's easy to hide behind the anonymity of a message board, but, if we want to initiate change then we need to be honest about where we are at. We also need to dispel expectations and allow this community to be one that represents God and loves each other. We can create this community, or we can continue to hold on to these false allegations and crippling stereotypes. I hope I am not alone in this desire and more of you will join me creating a community that we can be proud of.
P.S I would love to know your thoughts, either through this medium or through an actual conversation. Furthermore, I would be interested in hearing the admin's thoughts on this topic. These posts get read through your website... what's your opinion on these discussions?

I write this in response to the poster who defended the sports teams. i want to say i dont feel obligated to like anyone on the sports teams because you said "theyre not all assholes," especially when they show a blatant lack of courtesy to others. but i get it, i was on a sports team too once. the sense of community whilst among your team leads you into a mindset that isnt all that mindful of your surrounding people. this doesnt make you a bad person, but wanting to not be judged by your actions is too much to ask. being on a sports team doesnt make you an asshole, but it sure as hell doesnt mean you arent one either.

I might start going to the soccer games just to watch Liam Clancy.. He is seriously so handsome and he acts like such a gentleman around campus. I would definitely let him open the door for me as we walk into a restaurant on our first date!

I'm starting to think some of my friends and family are major jerks. When did it become okay to decide you can say whatever you want because "well, I can't keep from offending everyone" and "people are just too sensitive"? When did it become okay to not try to be at peace with everyone? Sure, you might not succeed, but if you want to help bring about the Kingdom, you are called to at least try. I don't think when Jesus told us to pray that it would be on Earth as it is in Heaven, he meant "act how you want and let your neighbors get over it". If you claim to follow Him, focus on Shalom, not yourself.

Students of George Fox,

I confess that your stereotypes make me sick. If you think this post is going to go on an on about LGTQ students, African American students, or any other recognized minority and are going to stop reading now, then keep reading. The stereotypes that upset me the most are those for the athletes on campus.

Yes. We have a football team now. No, not ALL football players are assholes. Some, MOST, are actually awesome people. Look at them that way.

Yes. We have a baseball team with a bad reputation. No, not all baseball players are assholes. Again, there are a lot of awesome people.

This goes for all sports, not just Football and Baseball, but those are the two teams that get the most crap. Putting people in boxes because of their appearance is one of the most harmful things you can do to them. Look past the sports uniforms, and look at the incredible people wearing them. It's time we support each other. Whether you support athletics here or not, recognize that the people who participate in them are people to.

Go Bruins.
