This is a followup to the "Fox is way too expensive" post.

I went to Fox because of emotional blackmail from my family. At the time, I was under the impression that it was a good school with a good reputation. Now that I have been out in the real world several years, trying to make an impression in my industry both in Portland and worldwide, I see that my money was wasted. I realize now that Fox has limited geographic reach, a limited alumni network, and no brand recognition whatsoever outside of the Pacific Northwest.

If you're hoping for an excellent education from an excellent school that will put you ahead of the game, leave Oregon and go somewhere that people have heard of. George Fox will not give it to you.

If you're hoping for a solid Christian education that will build your faith as a Christian, go to Seminary or Bible college where that is actually the focus. George Fox will not give it to you.

I realize now that I would have been better off standing up to my family and putting my foot down to attend a world-renowned school. But, I am where I am and I'll make the best of it.

I live on the first floor of one of the dorm buildings, and for the past 3 days I have heard this couple having sex in the room above me. Besides the fact that that violates the lifestyle contract, it also pisses me off because the shaking of the bed is so dang loud. If you are reading this, please do your businesses somewhere else!

One of my very favorite things about campus is listening to the bell tower play hymns all day! It reminds me of Monday night Bible Study Fellowship with my mom and even makes me imagine the music in Heaven! ??

Of all the posts I find the most fictitious and annoying on this page, the posts complaining about how students could have gone Ivy League/Top 10 Universities but for some reason chose Fox instead and are disappointed with their choice are right at the top...

If you knew, with absolute certainty, that you could get into those prestigious schools but instead chose GFU... You have no one to blame but yourself supposed savant self. One tour of the school or even a quick Google query should have told you that your not getting the Stanford/Harvard equivalent for the money that you are spending.

But odds are that they never could and are just complaining about the high costs. Sure it isn't an Ivy League school with all the inherit bonuses that come with that, but you still get a quality education from teachers and staff that genuinely care about what they do and your success. That is more than a lot of other schools can say. A big difference is GFU doesn't have a multi-billion dollar endowment fund to support them.

I think I lost one of my best friends. I made a mistake and didn't listen to them. I know I can't take back what happened but I want them to know how sorry I am and wish there was a way that I could make it up to them because they are one of the most important people in my life and I don't want to lose them because I was an idiot.

The fact that this backpack thief is a Raiders fan doesn't surprise me at all. Glad to see the "Raider Nation" acting normally!

George Fox is waaaay too expensive. I don't know how the administration can in good conscience let people pay what they do to attend a mediocre, regional school. With ivy league schools in the same price range, you are paying for the network and access to world renowned professors. What do you get at Fox? A nice quad?

I could have gotten into Stanford, Cornell, MIT, or some of the better schools in Europe. I regret going to Fox.

I fell in love with someone at GFU and now I'm stuck in Newberg.
