Sometimes I struggle not to judge people who share about their harmful addictions on FB(Drugs, Alchohol, Porn, Sex, Etc.)
I get it, honesty and all that especially with close relationships is the road to overcoming addiction, but their facebook wall is not the place for close relationships. When they share their stories, especially when it starts off with "I'm addicted to PORN and now I'm going to STOP" It makes me (and others) nervous. It's as if they have something they are trying to prove to themselves (or they are in it for the attention).

Honestly, Save your declarations about your addictions (or addiction stories, etc.) for your 12-step group meetings. That’s where it really belongs. Your fellow 12-step members have all been in your shoes and understand the stresses, cravings, urges, and tough times every addict faces in recovery. They’re also uniquely qualified to help you through their support and encouragement. They don’t ask anything in return, and aren’t going to jeopardize your relationships, job or social standing.
Despite what some people think Your "FB Friends" aren't your recovery group and generally, when sharing about your addiction over something as open and impersonal as FB, you aren't going to be effective or do any good in people's lives.

So be honest, but for the right reasons, to the right people, at the right time

True life: I spend 50% (probably more) of my work day fantasizing about my crush who is back home while I'm stuck on campus.

I had finally excepted that I wasn't going on Juniors abroad like so many friends... but everyone is posting about how awesome of a time they're having... Shut the fuck up already!!!
