Every now and again, I thank God that my future wife didn't meet me tonight. I am too much of a mess, and I just don't think she would like me.

I wish we could have a banjo play at every chapel

A few years ago I was sexually assaulted by a man who was supposedly a respected and looked up to leader in the Christian community. It sickens me to know that he’s out there with his girlfriend and group of children that he mentors. Would it even cross their minds to think that he could be capable of assaulting someone? The worst part is that he probably isn’t even aware that his actions would count as sexual assault. Society often blames the victim, or tells them they should be grateful that “at least it wasn’t rape”. Like myself and others should be filled with joy that it was merely sexual assault, as if his actions weren’t traumatizing and shaming just because penetration didn’t occur.
Please take issues like this seriously. There are so many people out there with similar stories who are afraid to speak up for themselves because they’re afraid they won’t be taken seriously, or that their assault wasn’t “severe enough” for punishment of their perpetrator. Abusing someone for demented selfish desires is not okay, telling the victim that they don’t have the right for justice is not okay, shaming victims is not okay. Let’s listen, support, and love.

These four years at Fox have been incredibly disappointing. I was excited by the idea of going to a Christian college, yet each year I found this school to be more hostile and less tolerant of my beliefs than my secular high school was. And I'm a Christian! These last few days I've been looking around and I'm realizing everything this school represents seems to be in conflict with what I believe in. If it wasn't for the fact that so many credits earned here aren't accepted at other schools, I would've transferred away years ago.

I actually feel kind of weird when my professors trust me. Not because I'm a liar, or take advantage of it in any way, but I'm just not used to it. It's nice, but weird.

I have a couple classes where attendance isn't required and there are some days of the week when I choose to do a shift at work over class because I know I can figure out the material on my own and I'm currently in an financial tight-spot. But I hate skipping out on class. I don't want my professors to feel like I'm lying and that I don't value their teaching or don't care. I just have other things going on. It makes me feel so guilty.

Who are the two guys on the cheer squad? I could watch them do push-ups all day.

I really wish things had worked out between me and a guy I was in a class with first semester last year. We would study together, but then we ended up without a class together second semester and just didn't see one another anymore. I keep seeing him around this year and I miss him, but I feel shy about saying hi.
