I'm a UWEC grad who graduated a little over a year ago, and as much as I loved my major, it's difficult to get a job in that field unless you get teaching certified or you go on to get your Masters...both of which I can't afford right now. Anyhow, a few months ago, after hundreds of job rejections, working 80 hrs a week at two dead-end jobs, and barely having enough money to make it on my own, I decided to visit an Air Force recruiter. It definitely wasn't a "on the whim" decision. I had been thinking about it for over a year,but I finally took the plunge.

Since I have a college degree, I was offered to take the Officer Qualifying Test, and I passed. As of right now, I am submitting an application to OTS. It's a long-shot, so I decided to go dual track...which means I'm also getting processed through enlisted route as well. This basically means that, either way, I'm going into the Air Force; whether it be officer or airman!

Yesterday I took the ASVAB and began the enlistment process. It's finally becoming real.

I guess my confession is this: None of my family members know, except for my parents. I plan on telling my sisters around Christmas, and the grandparents, cousins, etc. after that. But for the first time in my life, I feel like I am finally doing something worth-while. Am I scared shitless? You bet. But I feel like I am making the right choice for myself and I just needed to tell someone that.... For the first time in a long time, I am excited for what the future might hold for me, and I hope all of you either already have that excitement, or that you come to find that excitement someday.

I was in the caf with my friend this evening around 5:00-6:00 (12/4).. and there was a blonde guy with a black sweatshirt on, sitting at a table with his friends. He was quite. attractive.
BUT
I was in the middle of telling my friend something and I completely stopped talking because I happened to turn my head in his direction and saw him looking at me. It wasn't just a glance either. He was almost fixated on me. I turned away and tried to continue with my story but couldn't because all I could think about was the fact that he was right there and looking at me. I turned my head again a little later and he looked again. Speechless
I just have to say to you, mysterious blonde man, you are attractive. keep it up. ;P
