Yes, part of the problem with the EC gay community is that they're are some legitimately bad people, but that can be said about any group of people. I believe the bigger issue is that we all gossip about and judge each other without actually getting to know one another. Well, that and the fact that the gems get ignored because they aren't in the spotlight.

To the police officers on the drunk bus, you're not encouraging safe drinking behavior when you get on to maintain your ticket quotas. People hear about you on the buses, so they would rather drive home intoxicated or stumble home barely concious than try to be responsible and end up getting ticketed. Then again, it's all about the money, just like the minimum drinking age act, because look what that's done to "reduce" binge drinking.

Regarding the "parents are watching this page" post: one thing I should point out is the argument the OP said about not knowing who is watching (this is the only one I kind of agree with here). While the actual confessions posted remain anonymous, the responses to these are not. Many employers still look at potential employees' facebook pages to see what that person is like. Yes, it's still considered a violation of privacy, but only to a certain extent. People posting vulgar responses, especially continuous ones, will be spotted by ANYONE who sees the page because, well, it's public. There are no privacy settings on this page. If you look in your news feed and see your friends liking posts on this page, that should give you an idea of how easy it is to access it. Hell, even your grandmother, even if she does not "like" the page, can still see your responses. Would you ever talk about your sex life or telling someone you don't know to fuck off in front of your family? It's gotten some people I know into trouble before they didn't think about what they were saying, even online. Choose your words carefully, guys. You never know who is watching you.
