#3574 I commute to school & I work in Dallas, so I am always driving. When I see people need to cross the street, I ALWAYS let them go. I grew up and got my license in New York City, and I was taught that pedestrians ALWAYS have the right of way. Why am I saying this? Well, today, when I put my foot on the crosswalk and was about to cross the street, this car pulled and stopped at the stop sign in front of me. As I was crossing, he tried to beat me to the punch by going ahead and trying to go pass before I crossed in front of him. Because of this, he almost hit me. I am just going to say this once. I don't care if you are waiting at a stop sign forever waiting for people to cross. I don't care if the person is walking very slowly across the street (which often sucks). When someone puts their foot on the crosswalk and is about to cross the street, YOU WAIT patiently in your car for them to cross. Don't try to gun it before someone crosses, don't start moving your car until they pass you, etc. It's just basic fucking common sense. Pedestrians have the right of way! Learn that shit... because seriously... if you hit me when I am crossing the street, I will sue your ass. Learn some fucking patience, people... it can go a long way! If you feel the need to rush to your destination and cannot give pedestrians the right of way, leave ealier!
