Okay so I'm a white dude. How come every time I go to a party that is mostly a certain race, I get the dirty looks. Like what? I never did anything to you. I'm like super friendly, so how come I get bad looks? Is it cause I'm white? Most likely, considering I usually get invited by people from that race group too, so it's not like I show up at random parties or anything. It's amazing how people scream for equality, but they don't care about the equality of other people. I love people.

I'm from Marathon, TX. Look it it up on Google maps and check where it is. I'm someone who wants to go out and have fun and there literally nothing to do there. Denton and all of the DFW area was a bit of a shock at how amazing it is around here. I can go out and actually do something different each day. My new mission is to move out here permanently and never move back to that trailer trash town ever again.

So if you see an attractive girl you've never met but has a lot of mutual friends on your suggested friends list, would it be creepy to friend her and message her that you think she is pretty and you'd like to take her out sometime.

I bought a turntable and lots of records and I'm thinking about selling it all. I made the jump from CD to Vinyl because I was expecting a noticeable improvement in sound, and there kinda...isn't.

Now, for acoustic recordings using stuff like brass, skins, wood, and other natural materials for instruments - it sounds softer and more immersive, almost as though I'm sitting in on a live session. That Neutral Milk Hotel album, music by Fleetwood Mac, Soul music, Jazz, etc - most of it does sound slightly "warmer".

But it seems like most recent music and probably most music of the future will not be able to take advantage of the sound. For one thing, so many recent vinyl releases are pressed from the CD master. In other words, it sound just like the CD. And lots of electronic music, recent hip hop, industrial, newer rock, and more - I can't help but wonder if the dynamic range and and extra detail you get with CD doesn't sound better.

I have an Audio Technica LP60 turntable, a Lepai amp and polk audio bookshelf speakers, which have a $120+ value and I don't notice a leap in quality. Do I need to keep upgrading my set up in order to hear the benefit of vinyl?

If not, what does one pay that $24+ per record or? Bigger artwork, a slightly warmer and "live" sound (if it's an older record or if a new album was recorded on older analogue equipment) and a bigger disc that you can't burn and have to physically walk up to and flip roughly every 3-5 songs?


So, long story short, someone plz educate me if I'm not seeing the bigger picture. I really want to like vinyl, but I'm not sure if it's worth it yet.

I feel like all the friends I've made at UNT don't really give a fuck about me. Or at least the ones I hang out with the most. It just sucks knowing that you put way more effort into a friendship than the other person does. It makes me feel like I'm not good enough for them or that I'm trying too hard. Loneliness is one of the worst feelings in the world.
