I don't know if you really call this a double standard, but in my book it is. I listen to my boyfriend's stories no matter what it is. Even if it's not interesting I don't interrupt him, tell him it's stupid or anything. But today I watched a movie he had never heard of and I was going to explain it to him because he asked. I barely started and then he was just like, "just stop, that sounds stupid. I don't want to listen to you talk about it". We're in a LDR and I've met so many nice guys here at UNT and never cheated or anything and I wouldn't. But he does stuff like that to me all the time and makes me feel miserable and I don't know what to do.

I am a guy, and while I have made a lot of friends at UNT, it pains me to know that I have not established any frienships with women in my entire college career. When I was in high school, I had a pretty equal mix of guy friends and girl friends. I would hang out with my guy friends often, but talk to my girl friends about problems and inner feelings (something that a man should never do with another man). As soon as I entered college, it seems like the playing field has changed drastically and women are no longer interested in being friends with men unless it is sexual or just a BF. It would be nice to have communication with women again on a friendship level and just talk.
