Like I said, I know some people will disagree. If you didn't look deeply I can see how it appeared that Feamster was aloof about the class but that's your fault for not being thorough. Yes, Feamster was not involved in creating most of the coursework, but that was because he knew that letting Herman do all the work would be great experience for him. At the risk of being called lazy Feamster allowed Herman to make great strides. Whenever I asked him questions in office hours he'd give me very thoughtful responses and he always responded to my emails. I think he was very polite to anyone who was polite to him.

You may disagree but I remember a man who put so much effort into the class that he would transcribe the slides onto the whiteboard, word for word, just so he could explain it at a slower pace.
