I don't care that I don't have a girlfriend, that I only have a 3.2 GPA, and that I'm only working for one month this summer after two months of red tape. One day, as I get further in my engineering education, I will become a better candidate to get a good job quicker; after I get that first job school grades don't matter; and when I am a "student-loans-paid-off"ionaire I will be able to afford having a girlfriend and hopefully eventually wife.

I look great for my age and I lie about my age constantly. It is easier to be seen as young and dumb than the 30-year-old-loser-still in-school that I really am.

There was this Russian mathematician, Grigori Perelman, who declined the Fields Medal and the million dollar prize that goes with it. Many people misinterpret his actions as being arrogant and egotistical, but I find his actions to be very admirable. Perelman you see understood the futility of prizes. Prizes are the proverbial carrots hanging from the sticks. There will always be more deserving people than there will be prizes, and who wins a prize will more likely than not be a matter of luck. Yet the powers that be laud these flawed measures of quality and herd the thousands of gullible people into aiming to achieve their standards of success. This obsession with awards and recognition has led to much undue pain and suffering. But no one seems to be able to raise a voice or go against the flow. So credits to Perelman to show the world that the Fields is not all that, and that the greatest mathematician, or scientist, or athlete is the one who loves his craft the most.

All I want to do when I get home is sit on my azz and play video games and workout here and there. I BARELY study and I somehow managed to get to my Senior year. I play video games, and its a huge problem...I want to stay on campus more, but I cant afford to stay out and eat because I don't have a meal plan. What can I do to become a better student? I makes me sad because I know I can do better yet I don't have the motivation....
