I'm currently hooking up with a guy who graduated from umd at the same time I graduated high school. It's awesome, older guys are where it's at, girls.

Imagine you think your life is nearly perfect. You are very blessed with opportunities and talents and people who love and support you. You leave high school confident of what you want to do with your life and capable of doing it. 3 months later you are diagnosed with a chronic disease that doctor's can't figure out. You're told that it will likely shave over 10 years off of your life, and a 1/3 chance that the disease will kill you at some unknown point in your life. Then you're told that people will judge you for your disease and it will prevent you from getting jobs if you reveal that you have it. This disease is the 6th leading disability worldwide and it's always been a part of you. Now everyday you fight to survive, but you can't tell anyone about the disease, or if you do they won't know how to react or what to do. You get broken down as you reach out for help over and over again and the "experts" don't know what to do. Everyone keeps trying to give advice, but you've heard it before and as much as you keep trying to live it, nothing changes. Now you're just waiting for this nightmare to be over. You wrote off suicide and now you're stuck inside your mind that only wants to destroy you. You're not sure if you can trust anyone else because they don't seem real. Your eccentric behaviors and tendencies drive your close ones away as they wonder if they ever knew you. You wonder if you ever knew yourself. That's what I deal with everyday. That's what it's like to have Bipolar type 1 with rapid cycling and severe mixed episodes. You may know me. And to you I'm most likely just a chill, fun guy who will go on a fast-paced rant every now and then. If you want to think I'm lazy or insane you can. If you want to think I'm selfish you can. I'm just looking for some peace from my unquiet mind, and that might be impossible for me, but I will persist. And despite all of the madness, brilliance, emotion, and irrationally that I see in myself, and you may or may not see, I am nothing special. I am just a human. And I hope even if I'm just another number, that others and the world won't forget that.

I still eat my boogers while no one is looking. It's a tough habit to shake. I feel so ashamed.

I can't fucking WAIT until you graduate and are forced to grow up. No more of this drinking-and/or-getting-drunk-every-night bullshit and not prioritizing your future. Yes, I am definitely more than a little bitter that you're able to hang out with your friends regularly and go to parties and whatnot. I won't deny that. I'm jealous. I care about you, but I truly think the only way you're going to learn at this point is the hard way. And I hope it works.
