#3489 Okay from what I've been reading from half of these posts is that people don't understand anything about attraction. Yes, I agree that personality is more important than physical attraction- but physical attraction is STILL important (My boyfriend has a great personality and I think he's hot as fuck but there's people out there who would oppose). A person could be considered unattractive to society's standards, but someone dating them will consider them attractive whether subconsciously or not (i.e. A person saying "oh I only dated them for their personality"). It's in our nature to be with someone who we consider attractive no matter what. So this really ties in with all these "white girls don't like Asians" posts. Yes, they're out there (I would know first hand), it's just that you may not be attractive to them as you would be to someone else.

#3484 In response to 3476: I am that friend right now, the one who doesn't know what to say to comfort my best friend. She's going through a tough time in school right now and deals with an anxiety disorder,and we're drifting apart anyway, but there is just nothing I can relate to her on anymore. I never want to be fake-sincere with her, so I do the same thing and just tell her that I don't know what to do. I know it makes me a major bitch, but I can't lie like that. Would it really, honestly be better for me to say the standard "It'll be okay, in five years you won't remember this, etc." bullshit than something meaningful and from the heart? I dunno, I personally don't have the energy to fake it with her.
