#5752 I have studied 5 languages with 14 instructors in 3 countries with an average GPA of 3.8. Congrats UMD you're the only institution that could break my ability to learn language. The language instruction here (in a certain program) is like taking an online class, why am I paying for this?

#5748 I seriously feel like studying abroad the biggest waste of time and money. Sure you get to experience a whole different country and culture, but why would you do that now when you're in school? If you're in college you should be at the actual university and enrolled as a full time student. Going abroad is basically an excuse for students who don't want to feel the pressure of a full semester and would rather take one or two pass or fail courses and then party the rest of the time there.

#5747 When I'm eating in public, I have perfect manners. I cover my mouth, I take small bites, I use a proper fork and knife, and I neatly work away at whatever's on my plate so I want to take it home, it doesn't look like somebody smashed their fist into it. But when I'm alone....I suck food in like a monstrous vacuum. Knife use is minimal because teeth are sooo much quicker and my fork might as well be a shovel for the amount of food it's shoving in. It's like Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde. Horrendous.

#5746 Overall, I think reading and writing on UMD confessions has made me feel better as a person. I feel like it's free therapy, even if no one likes or comments on my post, it's just good to put things out there in writing. And if people write on my posts with nothing better to do with their life than to be a Dick, I know I'm better than that person, because I'm not a Dick, which makes me feel even better!
