#5953 I hate hate hate when my parents get over protective but I think its cute when my older brother does. We were best friends as kids and as we got older we kind of grew apart so it's cute to see him worry about me but when my parents do it, it works my last nerve.

#5951 Coming from a small town with not a lot of opportunity, it bums me that people don't appreciate our school. I've never had so many opportunities and chances to better myself in my life than UMD, and when people trash on this school for not being a shitty school, I just don't get it. If you think you're not getting the most of your education, go out there and chase it, its all waiting for you just have to fucking go grab it, but PLEASE stop bitching.

#5948 Over a year at umd and I feel like a failure when it comes to the friendships I've made. It sucks because they were seriously good friends at first and we definitely had our good share of memories but now everything has changed. I'm always the one taking the first initiative. I text/message them to see if they want to hangout and hardly ever get any replies, or just the "I'm busy" kind of replies. But they are always out and about. I hear about it from them afterwards or through their posts on Facebook. And they always come up with excuses as to why they didn't tell me they were going on. I really feel like I'm just a schoolmate. Nothing more. During weekends/breaks they all have their hangout buddies. I'm seriously fed up. I just feel like there is no effort on their side to make anything happen. I'm constantly bringing different plans/ideas of what we could do and I'm only met with negative replies. Anyway I still think campus is filled with amazing people. If it's not them, I'm sure I can find great people who are down to play sports or hit the gym with me or down to watch a movie. I haven't lost hope.
I feel like I talked for long enough. I'm probably losing track of what I said at this point and making no sense. Sorry I just wanted to vent :).

#5947 Okay, so the following is not an excuse of any sorts just an attempt at explaining why "nice" guys expect more than a friendship when they make moves on girl. The typical nice/shy guy will spot a girl whom he is attracted to. He will then eye her for weeks until he finally forces himself to say something to her which will take several more weeks of preparation because he doesn't want to mess things up (even though there is nothing between them to begin with). Once he makes a move and eventually finds out she only wants to be friends, he cannot accept it because it's hard to let go of something you've worked so hard and long for so he comes on here and makes a confession about it.
