I just want to take this time to thank UMD. I'll be graduating this May and even though it wasn't easy I'm still alive. So you out there thinking this school is tough or you hate the people or something, you just keep hanging in there you'll find that "group of people" that you'll like, just go out there and find them, be nice. Seriously with what I academically learned(computer science major) in this school, UMD should be an ivy league school. Harvard, MIT, Yale aint got anything on us. Go Terps!

I feel like the insurance premium that companies charge for smokers should also be applied to fat people..for many eating more than they can handle is as much of a personal choice as smoking.

While I am a believer in the maxim "don't judge unless you want to be judged" , I do believe there's a line. If you cheat frequently, its not outlandish for me to call you a cheater/player. If you kill people, no matter what the intent, the label killer doesn't just go away. You can't expect me to hear something you say rather vividly and without shame and not evaluate that comment within a sociological context. Just as the dude who posted stereotypes have SOME basis in reality, he's right. As much as I'd like to deny it, he's right. I'm not saying to be judgin people left and right, but come on now. Where is the accountability? If you want to do something please go do it, just know there are consequences. You are free to choose, but you are not free from the consequences of your choice. Sometimes those consequences come with labels. Sorry.

As far as I can tell the only things required to be a successful business major are the networking skills necessary to be any sort of personable human being in everyday society and a proficiency in high school algebra and statistics. It blows my mind that an entire chapter of a textbook can be devoted assigning names to every single variable in a simple fraction or equation followed taking the reciprocal and calling it something else, and every class I attend further distances me from being able to acknowledge business as a legitimate field.
