Hi! The world must be fucking fantastic being a heterosexual male! Bonus points if you’re also white! I wouldn’t know what that’s like, because I’m a woman, a non-white woman, and apparently /that/ makes me inferior to you in society! How is this relevant to what you’re bitchspieling on about ESPN showing a gay couple kissing, you ask? Very good question, sir!
Because we woman have been shouting for equality at least since 1700 (Dorothea von Velen, briefly ending couverture), and most definitely earlier with isolated individuals, and guess what? We’re still not fucking equal. Then we had women like Susan B. Anthony chaining themselves to fences and being dragged to prison where they held hunger strikes, then we had marches and protests, celebrated beacons, televised speeches, lobbyists, and so on. And what’s that I hear? Oh yeah. The sound of STILL NOT FUCKING EQUAL. Lovely song, really. It’s played to the melodic tunes of Women In Politics Are Ridiculed For The Same Things Men Do And Are Celebrated For, Women Are Whores But Men Are Studs For Being Sexually Active, Women Get Paid Less For The Same Job, and my favourite, Health Insurance Has Always Covered Floppy Dick Remedies But Only Just Added Birth Control!
So to the gay community and to society in general; keep making some fucking noise. Make a fucking racket. Have the parades, share the heartwarming stories, have the sweet clips on ESPN, go to fucking town. Keep that fucking spotlight. Maybe, and I hope you do, you’ll make faster progress than we as women did. We’ll know you’ve made it when people like OP don’t feel the need to bitch about seeing two men kiss, just like women will know we’ve made it when we don’t have to hear dicktwats like Limbaugh calling women ‘sluts’.
