#996 It was a night of bliss and butterflies I'll always remember. You let me take your hand, as big and manly as it was. You snuggled against me and I snuggled against you. I'll be honest when I say nothing else mattered when you let me know it was okay to kiss you. It was what I had wanted for as long as I'd known you. I kissed you and you kissed me. Though our tongues didn't dance, I'll remember your taste. I planted a kiss on your forehead and you planted one on mine. I've heard those are the kinds of admiration and adoration. While our time together was too short and it seems we've both moved on, it will live with me forever because that night was the night I learned that, no matter how fleeting, dreams can come true.

I confess that it has been the worst three years of my life since I moved to the United States. Back home they say America is the best place to be but I have proved that statement wrong over and over again. To begin with, many have judged my intellectual ability and my character based on the color of my skin. I have been looked down upon countless number of times only for them to be mesmerized by my abilities even though I'm from Africa. I'm glad I only have one more year before I go back to the warmth and kindness my continent portrays. America is messed up! I wish I knew that before, then maybe I would have lowered my expectations.
