#7052 So I'm sitting French class, and we're told to pair up and work on some text book pages with a partner. I was going to do the pages by myself, but a girl in my class whom forgot her book asked me to share. Being a reasonable person i agreed and let her look. She proceeded to hog the book, not let me see the pages, not work with me and discuss what we were working on and told me she was only taking this class because she had too, to which I replied "well if you have to take it, you might as well make the best of it" to which she replied "nope" then she proceeded to say, after SHE had finished and I was left in the dust, "why can't we all just learn English?" Where do you get off?! What is so perfect about our language that makes you think we are superior to the rest of the world? Most of the world hates us because of the mentality you have. Sorry if you are being forced to experience cultural diversity and you are resistant to doing so, but don't drag others down because of your ignorance. I have never been to France or met a full fledged Frenchman, but I have never been so insulted by someone indirectly and felt so sorry for the French people that there is ignorance like this in the American public. This is why there is less understanding, because of the lack of will power to learn something. Just because you could not understand something and are being forced to take it, don't belittle it and drag others down into failure because of it. Sorry for the rant, just needed to let that off my chest
