#24125 I am a Purdue alumni and I was hoping to get some feedback from my fellow Boilermakers about a relationship issue I am having. I went on a couple dates (we just walked a trail) with a girl a couple years older than me and she revealed to me that she has a very deeply troubled past. She has had bad experiences and I would say she was not to blame for some experiences but certainly she was to blame for other experiences because they were the result of stupid decisions that she made. She also revealed that at 19 she had cervical cancer. It was too personal of a question, so I did not ask what caused it, but I strongly suspect, based on her experiences that she told me about, that it was caused by HPV. I’ve been reading alot about it and HPV is incurable and highly contagious and can cause penis cancer/genital warts in men. She wants to continue dating. It really disappoints me, since I think she is very pretty and we have similar interests, but because of her past, I am going to have to discontinue whatever relationship we have right now. But how should I go about it? The best idea I got is just to not respond to her calls or texts.
