#24661 What is it about how in your teens/early 20's you tend to see the best in everyone? Then as you get adult af you might be friends with someone for a day and then one little fucked up slip where someone says something negative and that usually is enough to cut someone off since you just assume, "oh, that's who that person is, they aren't as socially evolved as me and need to fuck off". But when you're younger it would be like "oh, you!" and that person would be made fun of lightheartedly and then everyone would be friends again. I'm not saying I think it's bad to be discerning as an adult, but damn, sometimes you gotta wonder if all the social conflict that cynical-ass adults engage in all the time doesn't contribute to future generations of cynical, stressed out adults. Or is it just part of being human to be cynical of those you feel display any little indication of having lower character than you and cutting someone off for one negative slip (tone of voice sounds creepy once or twice, they say a microagression, etc) simply a realistic part of progressing as a human?
