#24691 My 21st birthday is the day after the first Presidential debate. I envision myself drowning myself in alcohol from my first set of drinks after the debate. Now, I don't care much for the election, but I think humans, in general, have been doing a very bad job of human-ing, and that the consequences of our existence will mean the end of all life on earth once global warming and overpopulation of the human species catches up to us (for more, consult with almost any professor in the Biology department). #24686 Why do people constantly need recognition for things? Why can't they just do their job and be happy? A nurse friend of mine posted a picture of a cake saying "happy surgical tech week". Reminds me of when I worked at a hospital, they had a week for everything. Once they had a "cleaning staff week" and had cakes and everything. I don't understand it. Are people that prissy now that they have to be constantly recognized for doing their job. You get a paycheck. That's your biweekly recognition. Recognition should be for someone going above and beyond what is asked of them. But now it's like "I woke up and got to class on time. Where's my trophy?"
