#26467 Hearing all of the hateful and willfully ignorant people spew xenophobic filth in relation to refugees, immigrants, and undocumented workers makes me both angry and disappointed in my fellow Americans. The people who come to this country to escape war, escape poor living conditions, and to make a better life for their families are not trying to destroy this country. They aren't drug dealers, rapists, gang members, murderers, or looking to scam the system.

Unless they actually attain legal citizenship, they can't collect social security, can't take advantage of government programs like welfare and SNAP, or send all the money they make in the US to their home countries. They are just trying to make ends meet and be a part of a nation who has boasted itself as a land of opportunity. A huge portion work for below minimum wage and do work that born citizens of America refuse to do. They aren't driving up the cost of your healthcare, the gas prices, or food costs. They plant and harvest your food, collect your trash, clean our buildings, and live in the lowest socioeconomic conditions just trying to give their families a better chance than they had in their mother countries.

You shouldn't call yourself a good American/Christian/person if you would turn your back on a fellow human being seeking help when you have it to give; even in the form of safety and help. The immigration process to become a legal United States citizen is lengthy and expensive. Some have waited more than two years and paid over $1,000 to become a US citizen; something that those who were born here are given freely.

I urge you, please be kind and help end the suffering of those less fortunate than you by extending a hand in friendship and help to those who need it. Make the world proud of Boilermakers by showing them our solidarity in providing help and sanctuary for the immigrants, refugees, and undocumented workers who need our help.

#26465 Its 3 AM and im stuck laying on the floor of my room, in severe pain and without any real strength in my limbs. I cant even get into a sitting position and have to use a towel as a pillow. Im utterly terrified since not even my doctors can figure out whats wrong and they now want to scan me for cancer. Im scared witless, my own body is fighting me and no one knows whats going on. My back pain wont go away and im losing touch with friends except for one and I feel like the worst piece of trash for needing her help so much. Im supposed to go on a coffee date later today and now I have to cancel since I dont even have the strength to sit up. Im fighting with all I have and its still not enough. Im seeing a therapist at CAPS but even thats not helping. If I could just put a face to whats doing this to me so I could fight it that would help so much yet not even some of the best doctors in the country can figure out what's wrong. I wish I just had someone to lay on the floor with me or even just hold my hand. Even when my heart was failing I didnt feel this alone or scared...

#26464 There is this guy who ruined my life in middle school. He called me ugly and had his friends call me ugly. I'm for the most part over it, but I see him on campus pretty much everyday. He was at the bars tonight just smirking at me thinking he had something over me. I've always had really low self-esteem and middle school really didn't help. I wish I would never have to see his face for the rest of my life.

#26460 There's a guy I see nearly every day on the bus and I want to get to know him. The problem is that he has the worst breath I've ever smelled. I can smell his breath even when he's breathing through his nose. I don't think I can ever talk to him because I'll probably gag as soon as he starts speaking.
