#27306 To the confessor of
#27302. I don't want to be a pessimist but there is a strong chance that the situation is going to remain the same till u graduate. Local people are going to be very polite, nice and friendly. But you might not be able to experience a sustainable friendship with them. That's one of the many drawbacks of studying internationally, you have fewer choices when it comes to making friends and yes we all try to mingle up with the local crowd, but sadly on most occasions are left on the fringes. Good you have friends in your ethnic group, if they weren't there you would have been fucking depressed.

#27305 Did you know that if a guy is right handed, then his left testicle hangs lower?
So Obama's right testicle hangs lower than his left one.
There. That's a thing you know now.

#27304 Don't understand why people constantly post about sorority girls over here. Stop putting people up on a higher pedestrian. You are equally smart, savy, meaningful. Get a life soul sister.

#27302 Im an international student who has been on campus for a full year now and although I've made a lot of friends, most of them are from my same ethnic group. Don't get me wrong, I'm a pretty out going guy, I like to meet new people and make friends but I just can't seem to bridge the gap and make more local American friends. I do have some acquaintances I made through my classes but we don't really chill like I do with my other friends who are from the same ethnic group as me

#27300 I'm a 5'1 or 5'2 woman who was assaulted by a 6'1 or 6'3 man and I survived scot-free and clean because I have a martial arts degree. No venereal infections of any sort. HIV-free. Clean.

#27299 I was the "weird kid" the first couple of years at Purdue. I've gone through sort of a metamorphosis in the past few months and think I've finally outgrown my awkward stage for the most part, but am still worried about making friends in my major. I'm a liberal arts major so everyone in my major is pretty good socially. (a solid 75% are sorority girls and I envy how great they are at being social, weird as that sounds... I'm a girl, but not in a sorority, for context) They all know me as the "odd one out" though. This upcoming semester I'm taking a few classes with people of my major that involve sitting in small groups. I'm scared people won't sit with me. Dumb, I know, but at this point most people in my major have formed their friend groups that they sit with in class. And while I have a good group of friends, none of them take the same classes I do. I can't pull the "oh hey I'm new here, can I sit with you guys?" card either. Everyone in my major already knows me. Advice on how to not awkwardly sit alone in the back would be great. Or, if I've already boned myself due to my past weirdness, pity would be appreciated.
