I feel like people misunderstood what the author was saying. When I read it I though he/she was implying that dating outside of your raise can be more interesting. I think interracial dating is more complicated and in turn more interesting, because couples may deal with certain cultural barriers and have to educate each other about certain cultural differences. As a black girl who has dated a Hispanic guy and white guy before I can honestly say that learning to share your culture with someone outside of it only creates another degree of intimacy in the relationship. I do feel that Purdue is lacking in interracial couples, which is intimidating for someone like myself who is usually attracted to people outside of their race.

#8058 It's not that big a deal if I hold the door once for one person and they don't say thank you. It is frustrating when I hold the door for a mass of people and no one says thank you, though.
Or if I end up holding the door for a person multiple times with no thank you, I'll say a passive-aggressive 'you're welcome.'
