#29957 I overheard some coworkers talking about their dogs’ health care costs. They all VERY easily agreed that they’d rather put their dog down than spend X amount of money on a surgery that could help the dog live a better quality of live or cure it of an illness.

Maybe I’m living in a bubble but I was genuinely shocked. I’m a grown man, but I know when my dog dies I will be really fucking sad as though I lost a family member. To me my dog is family, and any decision to have her put down would be extremely difficult, and definitely not based on cost alone IF IT CAN REALLY HELP HER.

I know everyone’s life situation may not allow them to spend that much, but I’m just surprised how easily they said they’d put their dog down, without even a second thought. I can confidently say the cost they were talking about would not strain them financially.

I’m not making this post to express my personal moral judgement about them, I think they’re all decent folks. I’m just genuinely shocked that they didn’t have to think twice to come to their concensus.

Well this is a confessions page so I had to get it off my chest. I’m curious to hear what you guys think. Perhaps these guys were just trying not to display any emotion about it. Maybe I’m too attached to my dog and loved ones in general. As Yoda said: “Attachment leads to jealousy, the shadow of greed, that is."

#29955 So I've been infatuated with a girl for a couple years but could not get up the nerve to ask her out. Today I wrote her a note telling her how I felt, with my phone number, and then I put it in her bag during our ECON class. Unfortunately, she left before I saw her reaction. Someone is texting me now, and claiming to have read the letter and being interested in going out. The thing is, it's very clear that this isn't the same girl I gave the letter to. I don't know what happened when she found it, and I'm not sure how to react to this.
