What you have experienced is not what others will always experience if they experience religion. For some, the experience may be terrible of terrifying simply because that's how they naturally respond to those ideas of heaven, hell, God, and vicarious redemption through human sacrifice. Ideological appreciation is a very personal, subjective experience. It can be inconsiderate to think that its an act of love to expose others to ideas that may cause them psychological distress.
