#13765 Real world confession here: I am a minority student on campus and while I support peaceful protest and making awareness of social injustice for minority groups on campus (because there is a large disconnect), I have never been more embarrassed to claim I support a cause in my life. To the people who laid down in those streets, you obstructed innocent people from getting to their jobs and daily lives to make a point that could easily have been shown on the sidewalk. It caused more anger than support, hurting an extremely important cause. As someone who remembers growing up counting every single penny that went into our car and not being able to afford driving to anywhere except school or work because of the expense, nothing disturbed me more than seeing people being forced to waste gas by diverting their vehicles from this blockade. Please spend more time thinking about who your target audience is and whether each actions does more harm than good. I'm not looking forward to being the resident minority student in class tomorrow who has to justify this. The marches were great, participated in that because I wasn't obstructing traffic and putting myself in serious (and potentially illegal) danger. End rant.

I really really like this guy, and we have a couple of classes together and we talk regarding those sometimes. But everytime i think of telling him about my feelings, i think of how he won't have the mutual feeling and things would get awkward and our friendship would get ruined. I am willing to forget about the end result and at least try, but I also can't think of how I will manage without the friend I see in him.
