Guess what, the media tries to push their political agenda even if they say something false. I've got a news flash for you. People think that you are either far left or far right, when in reality, I'm willing to bet 80-90% of the population may lean one way, but are definitely more moderate than people think. All of the politicians in Washington don't get anything done because they act far left or far right. All of the lies that they have spread have given us as a society a false perception of what the other side believes in. 90% of the population believes there should be some sort of gun control, they don't think anyone should die because someone couldn't afford healthcare, and Donald Trump is a narcissist. If you sit and have a conversation with someone face to face, you'll realize that you want most of the same thing. Blame everyone in Washington who thinks you have to be far left and far right. They are the ones that get nothing done.

Fast forward several years later and I'm happily married, have a great job, and for the first time truly loving my life. The girl is long gone, but she still crosses my mind from time to time. When this happens I imagine myself stomping on her like an insect scurrying across the floor.

#30547 What is the reasoning for people who are against common sense gun reform? Yes, people break laws all the time, there is still theft, assault, etc. However the laws act as a deterrent, people will still break them, but what is the argument against not adding a deterrent (I'm genuinely curious)? I feel that every effort should be made to impede any would-be offenders. Training courses, licensing, increased age requirements (Alcohol is banned until 21 because the human brain is developing, but guns can be bought at 18?) Better background checks/Identification policies, too many criminals are still getting their hands on guns. Laws can be changed at any time, so why not add a few more checks into the system to leave a longer paper trail for people who want a gun (the longer it takes, the higher the chance that if they have a record of hostile actions or behavior, that they'll be flagged as suspicious). Again, laws can be changed at any time, and as the current federal budget is proposing cutting funding for mental health services (even though they recognize the problem as a mental health problem) why not add a few barriers in an attempt to lessen the problem? I'd like to see something done at-least.
