#23200 I have been a TA for a course that hundreds of undergraduate students take. The students are all from different majors and I absolutely love interacting with them. Most of them are funny, respectful and eager to share their experiences. This semester, I have encountered more than a few people being obnoxious and rude. Some girls seem to have an air of superiority and are outright rude when we even discuss. I just cannot fathom what I am doing wrong for them to detest me.

A little background. I am a Southeast Asian girl, well traveled and have no strong accent. An engineering major but my students are all from other schools. I am fully qualified to do this job and am more than kind when students have 'common cold' and cannot make it to class. As a graduate student myself I fully understand that sometimes we all just need a break.

Don't want to pull the race gun ( I am a good sport) but I do feel like some students are xenophobic.(never bothered with the word untill now)

Confession: I hate teaching now and the fact that I let them affect me! I feel slightly sad.

#23193 Sometimes I fantasize about things being hit by a car, getting struck by lightning on the way to class, or having a heart attack in my sleep. I'd never do something to heart myself, I just enjoy the idea of how much simpler things would be for me if something happened. I guess it just feels like I work so hard in my personal, professional, and academic life only to be depressed, miserable, and constantly lonely.
