Growing up in a middle-middle class family and finishing high school as lower-middle class, you really come to empathize and appreciate the privilege of going to college for an education and a more secure future.

You relationship with parents after high school is so ideal. You figure out who you care about but couldn't live in the same house with any more, and you figure out that the other one is worth leaving behind, albeit paying for most of your education.
