#24844 For a bunch of people supposedly in higher education, a lot of you don't seem to understand much about some basic, search-able shit. Shit like socialism. Socialism is simply the public ownership of the means of production and their profits. Capitalism is private ownership of the means of production and its profits. Socialism is NOT basic shit like having a fire department or free education. Socialism is NOT, by its very definition, compatible with capitalism. Bernie Sanders is NOT at all a socialist because he isn't trying to abolish private property (as in shit like privately-owned factories, not your phone or whatever) and give it over to the people. This is simple, all you have to do is google "socialism" or "democratic socialism" for five minutes to realize some stuff and get the stupid, ignorant rhetoric out of your head.

Oh yeah, and since most of you will spend your lives working for a company, you should know that all of their profits are really generated by you and your co-workers. All profits, not invested back into the company or paid to the people creating it, are stolen wages. The basis of capitalism is this fundamental sort of exploitation. You're being deprived the fruits of your labor. Socialism seeks to give it back.

#24841 Everyone who thinks we shouldn't have guns at all, and everyone who thinks we should have totally unrestricted gun control, I respect your opinions and I'm sure you have reasons but I don't beleive that solves problems, throw numbers around as much as you can they can prove and disprove both sides of the argument. Anyone else think that background checks should be much more extensive? Proving you know how to fire a weapon properly and making sure you aren't "crazy". Right then campus police showed up and asked if I had moved them to block the road. I instantly blamed the skateboarders, just on the other side of the parking lot, that we could see from where we were standing. He zipped over to question them. I ran home, and the very next week, the "No rollerblading or skateboarding aloud" signs went up.
