#24244 I am seriously starting to wonder what is wrong with me?! I have been dating this guy got almost 2 yrs and during this time we have quit going on dates, doing nice stuff for each other and even having sex! Why don't I break up with him you ask? Because, he's so nice to my child and I can tell that they love each other. It's bittersweet to watch them. Part of me thinks I should just suck it and stay with him and other part thinks what the fuck is wrong with me?! Have some self-esteem, stand up for yourself, hell, just love yourself. Give yourself a little worth, ya know?

#24242 I normally couldn't give two shits about ASMSU, but DUIs are a serious charge. Considering that for most people who get them, it's not their first time driving drunk. Usually it's part of a pattern. That's not the kind of person I want representing MSU.

#24241 I'll cast stones here because I can honestly say I've never driven under the influence one second in my life and im not here be all high and mighty because I definitely drink and party just as much as most of the students here do. Also those of you saying everyone you know has DUI's or drives under the influence hang out with the wrong people and have your priorities all wrong. Designating a driver is easy; getting a cab is easy; also there is no where in Bozeman you can't walk in 30 minutes. We shouldn't be sitting here trying to normalize DUI; it's terrible behavior and if you drive drunk you should be absolutely ashamed of yourself because you jeprodize the life of everyone on the road when you get behind the wheel drunk. We as a society need to stop making DUI socially acceptable. It's fucking not. If you do it you have poor judgment and have no place in leadership. The president needs to step down or the university needs to force her to resign because it is behavior this institution should absolutely not condone. I will be ashamed to call myself a member of this community in the future if we don't. DUI is a felony offense in this country; if we were here talking about theft, or drug possession, or even rape which people will push back on me for comparing it too but let's not forget that rape cultures at universities is a real problem and people get away with it all the time with little or no consequences to the perpetrator. If she had committed one of those crimes sorry would far from fucking cut it and it shouldn't cut it here. I can honestly say I've never been more ashamed to call myself a bobcat because it's obvious that MSU is willing to accept DUI as acceptable behavior for someone who is supposed to represent the student body at its best. It is not. If you think it is reevaluate your priorities and if you hang around people who drive drunk regardless of getting caught you hang out with people with terrible judgement. She was caught parked on the sidewalk and in the grass; how is that someone you want to be on the road around? How is it someone you want representing you as a student body here at Montana State? DUI acceptance can't be a thing this university is known for when we all know how wrong it is. If you comment about me being wrong then go fuck yourself; you are part of the problem and I hope a drunk driver hurts someone you love so you know just what is as stake when you do it and you understand why it's so wrong. Maybe that sounds cruel but I lost my sister to a drunk driver and for those of you saying not to pull that card you are the worst kind of people and have no idea what a loss like that truly feels like. There is zero excuse for drunk driving and the president needs to step down.

#24240 If literally EVERYONE you've met here has driven under the influence at some point, and damn near all the people you know in Bozeman have at least one DUI... You should probably find some higher-quality people to hang out with. Whatever the people you know do has no relation to how the ASMSU President should act, and she deserves every ounce of vitriol directed at her. Someone in a position of "leadership" such as Gwynn Simeniuk, that is expected to represent the school, should hold themselves to a higher standard.

#24239 Food for thought:
In reference to our student body president and her recent actions, there are a few aspects of the situation I would like to highlight.
1. It's irrelevant whether or not she has been a great president thus far, not many will take her seriously as of now.
2. When taking a position that is somewhat centered in the media, you should know what you are getting yourself into.
3. Stepping forward to admit a mistake and getting caught are two different things. Recognize what this situation is.
4. We are all ignoring what should be the BIG issue here. In my knowledge of the ASMSU Presidency, there is around a $10,000 scholarship given to the student who holds the position. Has this scholarship been revoked? (In all other scholarships, the general rule would be to revoke said scholarships if you screw up.. i.e. DUI, MIP, really any criminal activity.)
I don't care if she wants to continue her presidency and "recommits" to serving the student body, but I do care whether or not MSU has allowed her to keep that. In allowing her to keep her scholarship, that would prove MSU to be completely irresponsible and that would be extremely hypocritical of the values and rules that MSU upholds.
I am not saying everything in this post is right, I am just saying that these are some things to think about.
