As an econ major, it pains me to see the toxic, racist, classist, and hostile comments coming from my fellow majors. I think this sadly speaks to the culture of the department in general, which in its rush to teach us how to make six figures moving money from one account to another neglected to discuss the problems of capitalism we perpetuate or even mention the millions of people we're oppressing in doing so.

#stopwhitenoise is pointless. just because a racist shuts up in order to blend into the crowd for five minutes, doesnt mean they wont stop spewing racist bullshit after those five minutes are up. like this protest was cute and all, but we need to have some real solutions.
