It's a bit odd seeing conservative people talk about how their views are suppressed for not being liberal enough. As a leftist I've lived most of my life refraining from voicing my opinions, because I know that "property is theft" and "kill all cops" aren't exactly commonly held sentiments and will get you very strange looks.

Is it really the worst thing in the world if some people disagree with you? It's not as if the "principles of open debate and democracy" are in mortal jeopardy, people at Macalester (for the most part) just have a lower tolerance for sexist/racist/capitalist shit

Mac students have terrible etiquette when procuring cannabis. Introduce yourselves and tell your dealer some background info, no one wants to sell to a stranger. Befriend your dealer, it makes the experience more comfortable for everyone involved.
Here's a great template to get things started.
"Hey this is 'insert first and last name' I got your number from 'reference A' and I'm friends with your buddy 'reference b'. Could you help me out with a/an 'insert quantity here' sometime today?"

As a POC, I genuinely feel ignorant to problems that POC face because I never thought that my race/ethnicity held me back from being successful. I never realized I was "oppressed" until I came to Mac and perhaps I'm still learning because I don't fully understand it unless other POC tell me how it is. I think I learn more about myself just as much as other white people do. I don't feel like I can relate to many other POC on campus who feel oppressed, although I don't invalidate their feelings and I think they have every right to feel the way they do. I just personally cannot relate and feel weird when other POC try and speak for me and tell me how I should feel.
