#1792 While our society needs to learn that the black male body is not an inherent threat, I don't think that what Lamont Diggs did was a good idea. For one thing, no one wants to be presented with someone's unsolicited genitals in a public eating space. Second, I think he failed to take into account how harmful an unsolicited naked body can be. There are definitely people on this campus (and everywhere) that would be made extremely uncomfortable not because he is black, but because those people have had, for example, experiences with sexual assault and/or rape and who can't really handle seeing someone naked (at least for now, especially unbidden). There are definitely also people who, for cultural or religious reasons, are not comfortable with seeing a naked body. I admire and appreciate what Lamont's goals were, but I do not think his method was effective or wise.

There is a nod to the fact that median GPA's are higher than the mean GPA's given. By that measure, you might be closer to being correct than these numbers would indicate.

Some extrapolation is also required to estimate Macalester's current average graduating GPA.

There's an outside chance that your claim is correct and maybe you have access to more data than I've been able to find.

That having been said, get your research game up.
