i have an enormous crush on an upperclassmen i see in passing. I've decided it's worth pursuing because they seem like an interesting individual, but i just don't know how to go about approaching them in a non-strange way and without having a mini panic attack. any advice??

Sometimes you see someone and you think they're the greatest, hottest, most amazing person out there. Then, you meet them and start talking to them. It feels like your fantasies will finally be realized until you find out they're with someone else, not ready to date, etc. But most of the time there are signs that the person isn't the right one. It's hard, but you have to move on. You deserve someone special who will you make you happy not an obsession that leaves your heart bleeding.

I would like to ask the more liberal members of Hamline a question. I have noticed that most members of Hamline community are very supportive of people from all walks of life. They seem to accept people of different races, sexual orientation, preference,social class, religion, etc. without any trouble at all. The thing is, I have noticed that there are certain issues that make most of the community members hypocritical. When it comes to the right to have an abortion, most of the liberal individuals I have met are open minded. When it comes to gender injustice, they tend to fight for everyone. Yet, when it comes to political difference of opinion, I have seen a completely different side to the liberal community. The same applies to second ammendment rights as well as hunting rights. Even on some religious issues, (specifically religious people not accepting people based on sexual preference)certain members of the liberal community get very heated. Now as a non-member of liberal community, (i'd identify as conservative) I am a whole hearted supporter of antything someone else chooses or doesn't choose to be or do. I don't understand everything that goes into being gay, so there is no way I would ever judge someone who was. I don't know whether a person chooses to be gay, or whether they are born that way and as such I am accepting of them entirely. I have no idea whose religion is right or if one is, so i support everyone's right to choose. I firmly believe in equal rights for women, and I think that skin color shouldn't matter at all. I support the rights of everyone to pursue happiness, so why do some members of the liberal community, not support my right to hunt? I don't tell anyone else how to live their lives, and I am accepting of them so why do they treat me like I am lesser for being a hunter? Is it a choice to be a hunter? Was I born this way? I don't know. I accept each and every one of you in whatever makes you happy, so why do some of you not return the favor? I never force you to partake, I would never ask you to eat anything that made you uncomfortable. I would even refrain from sharing the stories of my outdoor adventures if they make you uncomfortable, so why must you demonize me for my belief system? I believe that hunting is normal and natural, and that I was born to be a hunter. I would really appreciate some constructive insight, and please can we keep this civil?
