The word "government" has always made me think of chewed gum. No idea why, it just does.

I sincerely hope Bernie "feels the burn" when Hillary runs over him for the Democratic nomination.

This poat is meant for all of my fellow progressive and Democrat friends at George Fox who still pride themselves on having an openmind.

I ask that you please reconsider backing self described "Democratic socialist" Bernie Sanders. Bernie Sanders is many things: he is honest (perhaps the most honest of any person running), he is friendly, he is rightly fed up with the political establishment, he greatly cares about the dangerous wealth disparity growing in the United States and most importantly he touches upon sensitive issues that others will not even address making him relatable to many Americans. But I will tell you, if you let me, what he is not. He is not realistic nor pragmatic when it comes to policy or campign promises. He is not a uniting but rather someone who refuses to compromise with anyone else. During his time as a senator he has but three bills to his name. Three! More over, he is not progressive at all but rather a reactionary who tells people what they want to hear rather than how it actually is. He promises sweeping changes and imaginary candy from the sky. He says he will provide free college tuition, healthcare, etc...! But he does not mention that none of these things are possible without raising crushing taxes on the wealthy and poor alike. This is a man who didn't have his first full time job until he was 40 years old. He lived in a shack without electricity for a time in Vermont. He failed at nearly every endevor he undertook whether it be writing or carpentry. He spent his time reading (and believeing!) Widely discredited economic theories from people like Marx, Trosky, and Lenin who once said, "The goal of socialism is communism." This is a man that opened the door to widespread chaos in Russia leading to over 20 million dead and the heavy persecution of our Christian brothers and sisters around the world. While Bernie would no doubt disagree with these atrocities and even distance himself from the extremes of these economic theorists that didn't stop him from honeymooning in the Soviet Union, defending the Castro's marxist Cuba and the Sandinistas in Nicaragua. Fast forward to 2016 and Bernie no longer champions these people. He instead says we should be more and be more like Sweden and Denmark. At a recent Democratic debate he referred to Denmark as socialist country despite the fact that Denmark later responsed to the charactorization of their homeland as wrong and saying they are not in fact a socialist country.

I could go on and on from here but I will not. The point is I say these things lovingly and not to defame or slander Bernie. I want my friends at Fox to understand that just because a person speaks to our hearts and is a good person does NOT mean their solutions to societal problems and ills are rational or even forward thinking. While Bernie is without a doubt well intentioned, his economic platform is quite honestly insane and seeped in centries old economic thepry. He is not a progressive nor a liberal in any meaningful sense of the word. So when you go out to vote this year please, please keep these things in mind. I love you all.

So I’m the last poster who commented on Jesus, the rich, the poor and taxes. I really do want to say that I was in NO way trying to uniformly bash the poor. Have some gotten and stayed there because of their own choices, yes. But many, probably most, have been stuck there either because of harsh situations or due our system that allows for government dependency. This is the easy way out for them, and they can’t really be entirely blamed for that. Instead of having a system that encourages actual growth, ours encourages complacency. This type of system says to people that they are so useless that they can’t make anything of themselves, so here’s some stuff because you have no shot of getting it. THAT is not true giving. True giving BUILDS a person. This doesn’t mean you don’t feed, clothe or house them, it simply means that all those things are meaningless if you can’t actually built that person up in a more personal way. The entire point of my first post and this one is that we NEED to give more, but that it can’t simply just be “stuff”…. However, even though we must help the poor, is it honorable of us to take from the rich to do so? Is it virtuous to steal ones money for someone with less? I very much understand that it feels so right to help these downtrodden people, but should you do that even if it means wronging someone else, no matter how much they have? We must let virtue and truth guide our actions, not how we feel about the situation. It is not our place to bear judgment on someone for their greed, God will certainly do that. But until they face judgment, as I said before, it is our job to change people’s hearts. Giving is not only good, but necessary; but stealing to do so is not virtuous. Again, true giving can only come from the heart. So let us honestly endeavor to TRULY help those who are need. Let US, We the People, not some vague government agency, not only feed the less fortunate for the night, which is good and necessary, but also build them on a much deeper level for the future. We can, and should only be responsible for our own actions, let us make them virtuous ones… I’m sorry this was so long. God bless…

So something that has been driving me increasingly crazy is how many Christians say they support socialism because it’s “what Jesus taught / would do”. Did Jesus say we must give, YES, but the problem is that giving has NOTHING (zero, zip, zilch) to do with the actual money we give, and EVERYTHING to do with the state of our heart while giving it. So would be forcing a rich person to give x, y and z to a poorer person basically at gunpoint be giving? What did Jesus do when confronted with the rich young ruler? (Matt 19:16-22): “21 Jesus said to him, “If you would be perfect, go, sell what you possess and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me.” 22 When the young man heard this he went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions.” Jesus ASKED the man to give away his wealth and follow him, but he DIDN’T forcibly take anything from him to give to the poor. If we want to help the poor. 1. We must be the first to do so 2. Instead of forcing others to give (even if it’s forced through a “democratic vote”, it is still FORCED) we must endeavor to change their hearts, since it is from the heart that true giving can only be done.

I support Sanders, but it's starting to look like Clinton will win the primary. I'm so done with this country, it's evident that it's an oligarchy and they want Hilary to win. If it comes down to it and Trump wins the republican nominee, I rather vote for him than her. Trump talks a lot, but he's harmless and won't be able to do the ridiculous things he promises, Clinton on the other hand is a crazy warhawk. Here's hoping Bernie still wins the nominee though...

Lately(okay, for a couple months) I've been happy during some parts of the day, but then I just get extremely sad, I'm not really sure why. Granted, I've been dealing alot with the loss of family members(cancer and other) and stress at home, well everywhere, but doesn't everyone? I don't want to go home. I don't even really have a home, my parents left when I was in middle school. My family is getting torn apart even now (fostercare). How do I stop these random sad spells?
