I am glad that not all 2200 students have voted. It makes people who actually care have an actual say, giving those of us that do the research more power to make INFORMED decisions.

Why should it be left up to the 'chance' of those blindly cast their ballot?

Those that don't vote shouldn't be cow-prodded to do so, just as those who are indifferent ought to abstain out of respect for those who aren't.
