#1278 When I was a freshman, I had a really hard time making friends. I didn't get along with my roommate, and I was way too shy to go out and make friends. I almost didn't come back after winter break. I didn't enjoy being in Winona at all.

All through high school I though sororities were stupid. All I knew about them could be found in a stereotypical character in a movie. I explained to my cousin (who was in a sorority) what was going on and why I didn't want to go back. She told me to join Greek life. I thought it seemed pointless.

I found information about one of our sorority's recruitment, and I attended the first night. I fell in love. These girls were all so much fun to be around, and learning what the sorority was all about made me want to be a part of it.

The Greeks at WSU aren't all that different from the "GDI's." We hang out with our friends on the weekend, and many of us do drink. It would be stupid to deny the accusation that we drink, but we're just like the rest of campus. I have plenty nongreek friends who drink just as much, if not more, than some of my Greek friends.

We're all here for our community, and we create a community for ourselves and others. It's a great community to be a part of, and I'm sorry you don't have the opportunity to see it that way.

#1276 To all of my greek brothers and sisters,

First off I would just like to say that being Greek is not something to be ashamed of. Everyone apparently feels the need to bash the Greek organizations right now and that’s fine have your opinions. But don’t try to make those of us who understand and are a part of one feel like shit just because you don’t know what you are talking about. These past confessions have made my so sad and frankly I’m incredibly pissed of.
Before joining my organization I have had a lot of issues with depression and bulimia. Not only has joining my sorority given me more confidence in myself, but I have grown to actually like my body. The support of my Greek family is the best support system I could have ever asked for in my life. We aren’t just a bunch of “drunks”, as you so kindly put it we are a family. We have each other’s back and regardless of the situation we are there for each other no matter what. If I’m ever having a shitty day I know my sisters will stop at nothing to make me feel better, because we love each other. Greek life is so much more then some people make us out to be. Try talking to one of us about our organizations instead of bashing us publicly.
To all of you Greeks out there, stand proud ladies and gentlemen. I am so happy to be apart of our wonderful Greek life on campus, and we have something to be proud of. Our philanthropies and countless community service hours mean something. Asking for donations for our philanthropies is apparently “begging for money”, but if getting money to help ANAD, CFF, St. Jude’s children hospital, the Humane society, ALD, or any of our other philanthropies so be it. I will beg for money until I’m blue in the face because we are doing something that matters, something to help others.
Thanks for reading.

Sincerely,
Proud to be Greek

#1275 When I drink even just a little I get a warm tingly feeling in my clit and I either need to rub one out or call an ex to fix it. Currently doing the second. #gettingluckytonight!

#1274 I'm sitting here in my kitchen at the moment realizing i'm sinking further into depression. All I want is a friend to just ask me how I'm doing, invite me places, and care about me. It's been the opposite for so long as I go out of my way to help anyone and everyone but I just get passed off as a nobody. My confidence is at an all time low, my career path keeps me too busy for a commitment to greek or what not, and I can't stand doing nothing on a friday or saturday night for the 5th weekend in a row. I just ask this to all of WSU or whoever watches this page- be kind and give a chance to everyone whether it be the kid sitting alone at lunch or having a conversation with someone you have class with. You don't know how much that will brighten a person's day.

#1273 So I was going to the bathroom a few minutes ago at Lourdes and I saw a damn dude masturbating with the fucking door open. Dude, do whatever you want, but away from public spaces. Thanks asshole!
