Not being in a friend group makes me want to like shut myself out from everyone...

Today I was walking to the caf behind a boy who would smile, wave and say "have a good day!" to everyone he passed. Not one of the people we passed smiled, waved, or said anything in return. Everyone avoided eye contact and pretended not to hear. When we got to the caf, he held the door open for me and told me to have a good day. I smiled, said thank you and wished him to have a good day as well. I don't understand how people are so unwilling to do something as simple as reciprocate kindness.

Today I gained some self-respect when I made the decision to end a toxic relationship. It was a hard journey to get to the point where I was ready to let go, but now I feel so free. Pain still lingers, but it will fade with time. My heart is open now, and I welcome love, peace, and healing to find its way in.
