This summer I lost my boyfriend/best friend and coming back to Eau Claire I have realized that none of my friends from last year have any interest in spending time or even talking to me. Even though I have made many efforts to build friendships or just keep in touch the usual response I get is "sorry i'm busy but maybe next time!" or "i'll let you know my plans for the weekend!" And I never hear back. Being the quiet person that I am, it's hard not to think that i'm not worth anyone's time unless they are in desperate need for a friend because it takes me so long to let my guard down around people. Every night i'm eating dinner by myself I keep thinking, "just get through one more week. You'll be okay." Maybe only quiet people will take this as more than just a self pity post, but it's almost embarrassing how much I would appreciate it if someone would just ask me to go to dinner with them. Or spend time with them during the weekend.
