I can't believe nobody really seems to care about the government shutdown. In two days, if those knuckleheads in Congress don't come up with something, we will default. The House just cancelled the vote tonight. If we do default, the economy's going to crumble (value of the USD dramatically drops, country's credit score bombs, govt. can't afford to pay social security checks, veteran's checks, etc.), and has the potential to be on par or as devastating as the Great Depression. We would lose our status as an economic giant, and lose trading partners. Obviously these are only economic predictions (made by economists and bankers), but at least take a look at how crucial this is. I know I'm probably overreacting, but it bothers me how so many people (especially college students) don't keep track of politics, no matter how boring or anger-inducing they may seem.

i've been feeling so depressed and today one of my guy friends who i've liked for almost a year now came into class bragging about the action he got this weekend. to top it all off, i've been fighting this one guy who does like me off for weeks now cause he has a girlfriend who seems like a sweetheart and i'd never want to hurt a person like that, even if i don't know her that well. i just don't understand it all.
