I'm at my brothers wedding this weekend and my new boyfriend and I can only talk online... Were at that awkward stage before the 'I love you' but keep reassuring each other we really like each other

My sophomore year I met a guy through an organization (a little older than myself). We hit it off really well, and got closer and closer. Fast forward through two years of trust, bonding, and a lot more trust, and I gave my virginity to him. We aren't dating or anything, but have become very close friends. To use the phrase "friends with benefits" doesn't seem to fit our situation. We aren't in love or anything; we are deeply connected friends, who have shared something intimate with each other. It was an amazing night. Can’t thank him enough—here’s to more nights together.

My classmates want a chair next to them to be filled, a familiar face, common memories. A soft face, a safe place.

My friends want a good listener, a gentle adviser, complacency. They want stability, kept promises, and safe secrets.

My society wants self-actualization, a functioning member of society. It wants plausibility, a patron, a safe participant.

I just want sleep.
