I feel sorry for the ROTC guys I see around campus. Most of them are young and have yet to figure out who they are completely. At the age of 17 I enlisted in the Marine Corps for six years. Needless to say, it was the worst six years of my life. Working for incompetent retards who stayed in the military since they had no prospects in civilian life angered me to the point that I had to check my self in to a mental health clinic. Don't get me wrong, some of the most talented people I served with are great people; but by and large mediocrity and incompetence are rewarded while the good leaders are forced out. I just hope one day that if my sons or daughters join the military, that they will have better leaders than I had...

me and my now exboyfriend broke up recently and we have decided to be friends. We are super close and incredible together as just being friends. Basically we are dating but dont have that label... Not sure if I should wait and see where things go or if I should try doing my own thing. I just still love him and am happy where things are at, I just dont wanna get hurt.

This is pathetic, but I really just want to get invited to a party. Like one of those crazy ones.

I'm a junior who is thinking about taking next semester off because I don't think I am happy with my major anymore (education) and want some time to think about what I want to do, get a full-time job to make a bit of money, and spend the time to grow up a little and experience a "reality check." Has anyone done this? Any advice? Good idea? Bad idea?

I'm graduating in the spring, but I feel like the major I have chosen isn't the right fit for me. But I don't want to disappoint my family because they have put a lot of money into my education, I have no idea what I should do.

i've been going to class drunk 1-2 times a week so i can talk to a girl i like. now i'm almost out of rum and still haven't made much progress with anyone at all (although i made much more progress than i would have sober). as a guy w/ social anxiety this whole putting-yourself-out-there-with-no-reciprocation-from-anybody game has gotten pretty old
